Awesome book! I've lived in Florida for 8 years and I haven't even scratched the surface of places I want to see. I really love that this book is divided up into areas (Northwest Florida, Central Florida, Southeast Florida, etc) and then each of the areas has a road map, beaches, parks, festivals, attractions, day trips, and even a few restaurant suggestions). It's also very informative as it describes the history of towns, how some of them got their names, and a LOT of useful information. At 785 pages, it's packed with tips and advice . I highly recommend this book, even if you've lived in Florida all your life, but especially if you're a visitor here on vacation, or a new resident. This is a neat little book that allows busy Floridians to experience a rich unique history that underlies all the glamour, glitter of our famous theme parks and beautiful beaches. As a non-native married to a descendent of the first wave of pioneers, and Florida cowmen, I could not help but become infatuated with these unusual hardy people and the survived and thrived.
